VA Health Plus

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are your Virtual Medical Assistants?

Our VAs are put through a strict application and interview process to work with VA Health Plus. They are specifically vetted for their ability to work in a medical setting.

Onshore Virtual Medical Assistants are based in the United States, while Offshore Virtual Medical Assistants are primarily based in the Philippines and Central America. They can also be Certified Professional Coders (CPC), Certified Medical Assistants (CMA), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), or Nurse Practitioners (NP).

We run NBI background checks on each of them, certify them all in HIPAA-training, and also get onto their computer to ensure that is up to our standard in terms of security and connectivity.

How does a Certified Medical Assistant work in my office virtually?

While your Certified Medical Assistant may be supporting you remotely from across the globe, you’ll feel as if they’re right in your clinic. Using secure remote access software, your CMA can virtually assist with checking and recording vital signs reported by patients, updating and managing medical histories, preparing electronic charts, coordinating lab results, scheduling appointments, and following up on treatment plans. Patients experience the same level of attentive care without ever realizing the assistant is working virtually.

The schedule of your CMA is completely flexible. If you prefer them to work during your regular business hours to support live patient interactions, that’s perfect. Or, if you’d like them to work after hours to handle patient medical history, documentation, and follow-ups so your mornings begin with everything organized, that works too. Our Certified Medical Assistants are available to work whatever hours best fit the needs of your practice.

What are the benefits of hiring a Certified Medical Assistant through VA Health Plus?
  • Professional support – Don’t settle for hiring whomever you can find locally to help in your practice. VA Health Plus provides highly trained Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) who are experienced in supporting physicians, patients, and clinical workflows.
  • Prevents burnout – By delegating time-consuming tasks such as updating patient records, managing medical histories, coordinating follow-ups, and virtually assisting with vital sign tracking, you can focus on patient care while lowering stress for yourself and your team.
  • Increases patient satisfaction – Patients who are guided through their visits smoothly, have their records managed accurately, and receive timely follow-ups are more likely to feel cared for, leave positive reviews, and recommend your practice.
  • Makes scaling possible – If you’ve been putting growth on hold due to lack of time and support, CMAs give you the freedom to focus on expanding your practice instead of getting caught up in routine administrative and clinical tasks.
What happens if my Virtual Medical Assistant doesn’t work out?

If you’re not satisfied with your Virtual Medical Assistant’s personality, reliability, or performance, just let us know. We will address the situation immediately and provide a replacement right away.

One of the key benefits of working with a Virtual Medical Assistant is flexibility. This allows you to hire, replace, or adjust support quickly and without unnecessary complications, giving you peace of mind and uninterrupted productivity for your practice.

What kind of tasks can a Virtual Assistant handle?
